Cara Delevingne was born on August 12, 1992, in London. She comes from an aristocratic family, with actress Joan Collins as her godmother. She has been regarded as one of the most interesting models for years. She has collaborated with brands such as Burberry, Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino, and Oscar De La Renta. Despite many professional successes, in recent years, the model has been primarily talked about in the context of issues in her private life.
She achieved success, but fought depression for years
Cara Delevingne took the fashion world by storm, working with the biggest designers and fashion houses. The portal model.com ranked her 5th among the world's most popular models.
Modeling is just one of her passions. The Briton has also been developing her acting career for over a decade. She starred in productions such as "Carnival Row," "Fever Heart," "Anna Karenina," and "Paper Towns".
Despite many successes, life has not been easy for her. In an interview with "Vogue," she admitted that she struggled with drug addiction, like her mother, Pandora.
"It shapes the childhood of every kid whose parent has an addiction. You grow up too quickly because you’re parenting your parents," she admitted.
At age 7, she started drinking alcohol.
"I went and got blackout afterwards. It was like, What am I doing? The day after, I had to travel to my granny’s funeral. It was horrible," she confessed.
Three years later, doctors prescribed her sleeping pills, which started her problem with psychoactive substances. She ultimately overcame this issue a few years ago.
"It doesn’t matter to me whether it's she, he, or they"
A difficult childhood affected the future model. As a teenager, she suffered from depression. Realizing that she was also attracted to women only added to her struggles, as homosexuality was not accepted in her home.
In a conversation with Gwyneth Paltrow, she revealed that the idea of being in a relationship with a woman terrified her then.
"The idea of being [with] same-sex [partners], I was disgusted by that, in myself. I was like, 'Oh, my God, I would never,'" she said.
She identifies as pansexual.
"However one defines themselves, whether it's 'they' or 'he' or 'she', I fall in love with the person – and that's that. I'm attracted to the person," she explained to "Variety".
The model has been involved with both women and men. She was in an official relationship with actress Ashley Benson and singer St. Vincent. The media has also linked her with Halsey, Michelle Rodriguez, Miley Cyrus, Jack Bugg, and Harry Styles. Since 2022, she has been in a happy relationship with singer Minkie.
