Julien Arnold, a theater actor from Canada, passed away during a performance of "A Christmas Carol" at the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, Alberta. The incident occurred on November 24, as reported by Punctuate! Theatre, where his wife, Sheiny Satanove, serves as the managing director. This information reached the media only after a few days.

Death during the performance

Although the cause of death has not been officially announced, CBC News cited Alberta Health Services in reporting that Arnold died despite the resuscitation efforts of paramedics who were called to the theater. He was 60 years old, according to the "Edmonton Journal."

Arnold played the roles of Marley and Mr. Fezziwig, partners of the main character, Ebenezer Scrooge. The performance he was part of was scheduled to run until Christmas Eve. The Citadel Theatre announced that this year's edition of "A Christmas Carol" will be dedicated to his memory. The actor also performed in productions such as "The Wizard of Oz," "Beauty and the Beast," "A Midsummer Night's Dream," and "Once."

Remembered as a "cherished member of the Edmonton theatre community," Arnold was described as a "talented performer" with "great charisma." "His presence brought joy, heart and depth to every role, and his artistic contributions—and big hugs—will be deeply missed," a statement added. The theater's website published a post dedicated to Julien.

According to his theater colleagues, a fundraiser has been organized to help his wife cover costs related to the funeral, rent, groceries, and time off for mourning. "Julien's reach was wide, and we want to make sure as many people as possible have the opportunity to send condolences and support," explained the fundraising description, which has already raised $55,000.
