A tragic account of Sunday’s accident on an Italian highway. One person is dead, and 24 are injured, with 3 in serious condition. A bus driven by a 60-year-old man carrying Chinese tourists struck a barrier. They were traveling from Rome to Florence.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday (August 4) at around 10:45 AM ET on a section of the A1 highway in Arezzo, Italy. The causes of the accident are still being investigated. According to initial findings, as reported by Italian media citing police sources, the tourist bus unexpectedly veered off the road and then violently hit the guardrail.

Tragic accident involving a bus

60-year-old man drove the bus. They were traveling from Rome to Florence with a group of tourists from Beijing. Following the impact, the guardrail pierced the front of the vehicle to the passenger cabin, according to "Arezzo Notizie."

One person died on the spot, and 24 were injured. Three severely injured Chinese tourists, including a minor - as reported by "Corriere Fiorentino" - were airlifted to hospitals. The condition of one of the victims is critical.

According to the Chinese consulate, the deceased was the tour guide. Italian media reported that the driver suffered minor injuries; blood was drawn for tests, including for alcohol content.
