Brits defy Greek sunbed bans with pre‑dawn poolside tactics
The fight for a sunbed has become a tradition during vacations at foreign resorts. A British family recently showcased their method on TikTok for reserving a sunbed despite poolside bans. Did they think it through thoroughly?

Tired of constant complaints, Greek hotels have introduced strict rules regarding sunbed reservations. They state clearly: "One cannot reserve sunbeds from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM." If someone leaves their sunbed to go to breakfast, their towels will be removed. However, not everyone liked this idea...
TikToker Hollie Harper did not hide her resentment. She claims her family is "ready to sacrifice breakfast for the greater good." The video she posted on TikTok shows how her entire family arrives by the pool at 6:45 AM to "secure their campsite." Five family members lie on the sunbeds, enjoying the morning sun and ignoring the guard who ensures they do not leave their spot to go to breakfast. In the video, it's clear that the Harpers remain on the sunbeds and consume their first meal brought on plates from the hotel kitchen. This did not bother the guard, so the whole family had sunbeds and full plates. Did they think it through cleverly?
Greeks fight against sunbeds and tourists
The Greek government has taken measures to tidy up beaches and eliminate illegal sunbeds and chairs. Due to the increasing number of complaints, a protest group was formed, mobilizing thousands of residents to express their dissatisfaction with the high costs of using beaches allocated to tourists.
The authorities have introduced new regulations, requiring umbrellas and sunbeds to be at least thirteen feet from the sea. Displaying sunbeds, umbrellas, tables, and chairs on beaches requires a license, and on some stretches, placing any equipment is completely banned.
