Recently, the media has been writing about the private life of Britney Spears again. This is all thanks to published excerpts from her diary. "The Woman In Me" has not yet hit the shelves, but it has already caused a huge stir online. The mentioned chapters revealed previously unknown facts from the life of the artist, related to her pregnancy with Justin Timberlake and subsequent abortion. The reason why the singer shaved her hair was also revealed, as well as the complex relationship with her father.

Many signs indicate that the singer did not like the way journalists used the revealed excerpts. It may also be related to the wave of criticism Timberlake has to face after revealing the story about the pregnancy. On Friday, the 41-year-old released a statement, in which she referred to the media's actions towards her diary.

Britney Spears has issued a statement regarding the use of excerpts from her diary

My book was not intended to offend anyone in any way. That's who I used to be and it's in the past now. I don't like the headlines I read. That's exactly why I left the show business four years ago. - we read on Instagram.

Britney emphasized that most of the events took place 20 years ago and she has put it behind her. Spears wants to focus on the present, and thanks to the book she has been able to close some chapters from her life. The star is aware that some people may have felt offended by the words she wrote.

Most of what was included in this book comes from 20 years ago. I moved forward and I have a blank page now. I am here to direct my goals. Either way, I have it behind me, and now there is a nightmare happening! It's basically a book that I didn't know had to be written, though some might be offended by it. It allowed me to deal with everything and gave me a perspective for a better future! - she added.

The singer revealed the real intention that accompanied her while writing the book and criticized the media for how they exploit her.

I hope I can inspire people who in most cases feel lonely, hurt, or misunderstood! My motivation to write this book was not to reopen wounds, although the press does it, which is silly! Since then, I have moved on! - she summarized.
