Greek authorities reported the death of a 33-year-old tourist from the United Kingdom who was on board an abandoned wreck. They said the diver was there when weather conditions significantly deteriorated. The rough sea suddenly made it difficult for the man to return to shore.
Although a rescue boat and an ambulance were immediately called to the scene, another swimmer pulled the 33-year-old from the water. The unconscious diver was resuscitated at the scene, but the efforts of the rescue services were unsuccessful, reports greekcitytimes.com.
The port authority in Michaniona is investigating the tragic accident involving the tourist. Meanwhile, the prosecutor's office is awaiting the results of an autopsy that will be conducted.
