For 12 days now, searches have been underway for 19-year-old Jay Slater, a Briton who went missing in the mountainous region of Tenerife. The local police are appealing for help. Volunteers are encouraged to join the search operation on Saturday, June 29.

From England, Jay Slater flew to the Canary Islands with friends. On Monday, June 16, the teenager last contacted his friends. He told a friend that he was lost in a remote area, needed to drink water, and had only one percent battery on his phone.

The search for the 19-year-old has been ongoing for 12 days. So far, conspiracies abound, but few concrete details have emerged. Jay's last known location was the mountainous Teno Rural Park, in the northwestern part of the island.

According to Sky News, the police in Tenerife are appealing for help in the search. Besides the authorities, volunteers can also join the search. The entire operation will begin on Saturday, June 29, in the village of Masca. Jay was likely there when he last made contact with his friends.

Given that it's a steep, rocky area full of uneven terrain and many ravines, paths, and roads, the cooperation of all volunteers is required, informs Guardia Civil, adding that the operation must be carried out in a coordinated manner.

Volunteers wanting to join the search should contact Guardia Civil at 696434031 before 3 PM Eastern Time.

The mother of the missing 19-year-old, Debbie Duncan, told the media that this was Jay's first overseas holiday with friends and that she had encouraged him to go. The teenager's close relatives and friends also participate in the island search. They are not losing hope that Jay will be found safe and sound.

The search operation involves tracking dogs, drones, helicopters, and dozens of rescue teams. However, any help is invaluable.
