It's essential to remember that avoiding or delaying meals often leads to overeating during the evening and casually reaching for ready-made and heavily processed food.
One of the worst dietary habits is skipping breakfast. This encourages the buildup of excess body fat and interrupts proper glucose metabolism, subsequently increasing the risk of many diseases.
In addition to this, breakfast should be correctly balanced, containing sufficient amounts of vitamins, minerals, proteins, and dietary fiber. A well-balanced breakfast positively impacts our metabolism and gives us the energy to function throughout the day.
The timing of the first meal of the day is also significant. A study by scientists from the University of Murcia, Spain, determined that consuming breakfast at 1:11 AM Eastern Time was most effective. Regarding other meals, they found that lunch is best eaten between 6:30 and 7 AM Eastern Time, while the optimal time for dinner is 12 PM or 12:30 PM Eastern Time.
Some people tend to wake up later in the day. In such cases, it's recommended that breakfast is eaten within the first hour of waking. By doing this, we can regulate the hormones associated with hunger and ensure that we feel satisfied for a more extended period.
