Brazilian vocalist, Darlyn Morais, was most likely bitten by an unidentified species of spider at his home in Miranorte, a city in northeastern Brazil, on Tuesday, October 31. Symptoms of a severe allergic reaction to the spider bite developed over the subsequent few days, culminating in his hospital admission. He was released on Friday, November 3.
According to his partner, Jhullyenny Lisboa, Morais was weak and a bruise had formed on his face within the area of the bite. The bruise then proceeded to change color. By Sunday, his condition had worsened considerably, prompting another hospital admission; unfortunately, his life could not be saved.
As reported by a local news portal, Morais' wife revealed that the singer's 18-year-old stepdaughter also suffered a spider bite. Consequently, she too was admitted into the hospital, but her condition is reportedly stable. Researchers have not yet been able to identify the specific species of venomous spider that led to Darlyn Morais' untimely death.
