According to the Polish Press Agency, local authorities report that the plane first hit a building chimney, then struck the second floor of a residential house. Ultimately, it crashed into a furniture store.
As a result of the accident, 15 people were taken to the hospital. These are mainly individuals who were poisoned by smoke from the burning aircraft.
The plane took off from Canela airport and was headed to Florianopolis. The causes of the tragedy are not yet known. Governor Eduardo Leite confirmed that no passengers survived.
Gramado is one of the most well-known tourist towns in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. Recently, the area was hit by a flood that killed over 100 people.
