Brad Pitt snubs 'lovers' film offer with Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were one of the most famous couples in Hollywood for years. Recently, they have been embroiled in legal battles concerning not only their divorce but also their winery.
Brad Pitt reportedly dismissed an offer allegedly proposed by producer Danny Rossner, who supposedly wanted to invite Pitt and his ex-wife Angelina Jolie to collaborate on a film set. People close to Pitt have labeled the situation a "publicity stunt."
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie together on screen again? Absurd offer
The situation was made more sensational by the fact that in Rossner's film, the pair would play... lovers. The production was supposed to depict the story of real-life hotelier Emmanuel Martinez, who founded the Hotel Martinez in Cannes.
According to the Daily Mail, Rossner "believes" that the former spouses could "set aside their differences" to participate in his project, which he has dreamed about for 20 years. However, those close to Pitt find this highly unlikely.
Pitt is, of course, currently involved in legal disputes with Angelina Jolie. Since 2016, they have been trying to finalize their divorce, with their winery, Chateau Miraval, remaining a major point of contention. This situation leads informants to tell the Daily Mail that there's "no chance" Pitt would "lower himself" to work with someone who has caused him so much pain.
"All the money in the world wouldn't get Brad to appear in a movie with Angelina ever again," the sources say. "It would definitely spark public interest, but it's not anything he would ever consider for a moment."
They added, "They are currently bitter enemies so there is no way Brad would lower himself to be paid any amount of money to talk to Angie on screen. She's caused him so much heartache and doesn’t even want his inner circle to talk about her."
Another source suggested that Rossner's offer was merely a "clever publicity stunt," and "not something either side entertained."
"There was never any real offer," an informant revealed.
The divorce case between Jolie and Pitt has been ongoing since September 2016. For a time, Pitt lost the ability to see his children. In 2019, the court annulled their marriage, but the battle over the Chateau Miraval winery continues, as neither party wants to relinquish it.
