Brad Pitt rumored for the leading role in Tarantino's 'The Movie Critic', launching in 2025
Brad Pitt has previously collaborated twice with Quentin Tarantino. He appeared in two of Tarantino's films - "Inglourious Basterds" 2009 and "Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood" in 2019. Pitt received an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the latter film.
If the rumors are true, this will be Pitt's third film with Tarantino. At this juncture, the role of the actor in "The Movie Critic" remains unknown.
Mike Fleming Jr, a reporter for "Deadline", suggests that Pitt may potentially play the title character in the film. However, this information is not substantiated and should be approached with skepticism.
The storyline of "The Movie Critic" takes place in 1977 California and revolves around a man who writes reviews for an adult magazine. The film is expected to portray a historical figure that did not achieve fame. Tarantino revealed this during a conversation with Baz Bamigboye of "Deadline" at last year's Cannes Festival.
The film’s inspiration reportedly came from Tarantino's experiences in his early youth. As a teenager, Tarantino managed vending machines stocked with adult magazines.
"Deadline" also predicts that "The Movie Critic" is likely to be produced by Sony Pictures and is set for release in 2025.
