Bold operation in Russia: Saboteurs kill an FSB officer

The Russian Volunteer Corps, one of the formations from Russia fighting alongside Ukraine, has announced a successful operation on Russian soil. They managed to assassinate a Lieutenant Colonel from the Federal Security Service in an ambush.

The operation took place on Thursday, November 9, in the Bryansk region, bordering Ukraine. Specifically, the outskirts of the border town of Ulica was where it all happened.

As per the Russian channel Baza on Telegram, around 11 AM Eastern Time, "unknown perpetrators" initiated an attack with automatic weapons on a military UAZ all-terrain vehicle and subsequently fled the scene.

The attacked vehicle was driven by FSB officer Lt. Col. Sergey Shatya. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The volunteer corps admits to the attack

At midnight on November 10 Eastern Time, the Russian Volunteer Corps acknowledged the attack in a post on Telegram. They confirmed their involvement in the execution of the assassination.

Rocket attack in Skadovsk

On Thursday, Ukrainian media, quoting sources from the services, reported that a HIMARS missile attack on occupied Skadovsk in the Kherson region resulted in the death of high-ranking Russian officers.

A statement claiming the attack took place on Thursday morning has been issued. It mentions two loud explosions that could be heard in the city. The Ukrainska Pravda portal reported that the Russian Federal Security Service's deployment point was the target.
