The recent BMW launches have sparked a mix of emotions, primarily because of the divisive styling that's not to everyone's liking. Will the new X3 follow suit? We'll discover soon enough when the vehicle is presented without its camouflage. What's clear, though, is that there's a lot at stake for the Bavarian automaker.
Indeed, the X3 is BMW's best-selling model. The current generation, available since 2017, is beginning to show its age, marking the perfect time for an upgrade. Its successor is anticipated to arrive shortly. We can only rely on camouflaged images and a handful of crucial details.
Key among these is the diverse range of powertrains. We're informed that the lineup will include gasoline engines, plug-in hybrids, and diesels. An electric iX3 will also be introduced as a distinct model, symbolizing the cutting-edge "Neue Klasse" trend.
We know that the new X3 will be slightly larger than its predecessor, a logical step considering the recent enlargement of the smaller X1. This adjustment is needed to maintain a balanced progression between the models.
BMW is proud of the new SUV's enhanced aerodynamics. The expected drag coefficient is 0.27, a significant improvement over its predecessor's already remarkable 0.29. Moreover, advancements such as an expanded wheelbase, adaptive suspension, and a more responsive steering system promise to elevate the driving experience of the X3.
Additional details about the vehicle’s design and interior will be revealed shortly.
