Billionaire's island retreat: Affordable paradise for tourists
Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin brand, is set to open his private island to tourists this Christmas. Up until now, only select celebrities and politicians personally invited by the businessman have graced Necker Island. What does such an exclusive holiday cost? The prices are high, but not out of reach for those with a more comfortable income. You won't need to be a multimillionaire to enjoy what the island has to offer.

Necker Island, a small isle located in the heart of the British Virgin Islands, is owned and inhabited by Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin brand.
Welcome to the Billionaire's Island
Besides the billionaire's residence, Necker Island is also home to a luxury resort, until now available only to certain celebrities and politicians. The captivating island has hosted guests such as Barack Obama, Harry Styles, Mariah Carey, and Kate Winslet.
Branson, in a fresh move, has decided to lease out a portion of his island. There will be rooms at the billionaire's resort open to the public. The bookings are available between December 11th and 26th, 2023. While the service isn't cheap, it remains within the realm of possibility.
From December 11th to 20th, one night for two individuals will cost $5.4k. From December 20th to 24th, the price for two guests will be $5.8k. This cost covers accommodation, meals, drinks, round-trip boat transport from Virgin Gorda and Beef Island, various water sports, and other exciting activities. Airline tickets are the only additional cost for visitors.
"For the first time, we are offering our guests the opportunity to book an individual room during selected periods over the holiday season, delivering exclusive access to our beautiful, private island," said James Basson, CEO of Necker Island.
Located in the Caribbean Sea, the island boasts an array of activities for visitors. Expect boat tours, water sports, diving, yoga, and meditation sessions. Amenities include tennis courts, pools, and a spa.
"Necker Island is my home and favorite refuge. I invite you to discover this idyllic paradise and be astonished by its beauty," Richard Branson wrote on the official website.
