Biden warns of Soviet revival if Ukraine falls to Putin

US President Joe Biden, in an interview with "Time" magazine, revealed that Putin's objective is to revive the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact. He assessed that if the US and other countries allow Ukraine to fall, then, among others, Poland could face the same fate.

Russian aggression in Ukraine has persisted for over two years. In an interview with "Time," Joe Biden was asked about a potential end to the war.

If we ever let Ukraine go down, mark my words, you’ll see Poland go, and you’ll see all those nations along the actual border of Russia [fall], - announced the US President.

Biden emphasized that for him, ending the war and achieving peace means. "Peace looks like making sure Russia never, never, never, never occupies Ukraine." He believes this doesn't necessarily involve Ukraine joining NATO.

The US President highlighted that "I was the one when—and you guys did report it at TIME—the one that I was saying that I am not prepared to support the NATOization of Ukraine." In the interview, Biden assessed that Vladimir Putin's goal is to rebuild the Soviet Union. "He wanted, he wanted to go back to the, to the days when there was NATO and there was that other outfit that Poland, everybody belonged to," said Biden.

Will trump pull the USA out of NATO?

Joe Biden believes that a Donald Trump victory in the election could result in the US withdrawing from NATO, which would result in the US losing its role as a world leader.

Biden added that, for this reason, China has an interest in interfering in the election in favor of Trump. - Everybody, all the bad guys are rooting for Trump, man. Not a joke - he noted.

And so name me a world leader other than Orban and Putin who think that Trump should be the world leader in the United States of America. - said Joe Biden.

When asked about the potential defense of Taiwan by US troops, Joe Biden declined to give a clear answer. He stated that the United States' response would depend on the circumstances, but he does not rule out the use of US forces. He expressed reluctance to trade places with Xi Jinping, pointing to China's internal issues, such as a failing economy.

Biden on the war in gaza strip

In the interview with "Time," the US President also addressed the issue of the war in the Gaza Strip. Biden stated that he and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu disagreed on what should happen after the war. Joe Biden believes that only a "two-state solution" can help, which involves the simultaneous existence of the states of Palestine and Israel.

The US President was asked whether Israel committed war crimes. Joe Biden emphasized that "it is uncertain" and that the Israelis themselves are investigating the matter. "But one thing is certain, the people in Gaza, the Palestinians have suffered greatly," he added.
