"I know I’m not a young man. I don’t walk as easily as I used to. I don’t speak as smoothly as I used to. I don’t debate as well as I used to. But I know what I do know. I know how to tell the truth. I know right from wrong. I know how to do this job. I know how to get things done. I know what millions of Americans know. When you get knocked down, you get back up," Joe Biden said, quoted by Reuters.

"I intend to win the election," he concluded. "The stakes are too high. Donald Trump is a genuine threat to this nation, a threat to freedom, a threat to democracy, and a threat to everything America stands for," argued the incumbent president, insisting that I give my word as a Biden that I would not be running if I didn't believe with all my heart and soul that I can do this job."

Did Biden fail in the debate?

On Thursday evening, Biden and Trump clashed during the first presidential debate on CNN. The sitting president was judged critically, and in the first poll after the clash, 67% of those watching the presidential debate in the USA believed that Donald Trump emerged victorious.

Biden also failed to dispel doubts regarding his health. He came to the debate hoarse, and his speech was sometimes not fluent. During his statements, he sometimes stammered and did not use the entire time.

Advisors to the president conveyed during the speech that he is dealing with a cold.
