Biden returns to CAA to shape post-presidency career

Former U.S. President Joe Biden has signed a contract with a talent agency in Los Angeles. Commentators say this marks a significant step in shaping his post-presidency career.

By signing the contract, Biden renews his collaboration with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), which represented him from 2017 to 2020.

"President Biden is one of America's most respected and influential voices in national and global affairs," said Richard Lovett, co-chair of CAA, in a statement. "His lifelong commitment to public service is one of unity, optimism, dignity, and possibility. We are profoundly honoured to partner with him again," added Lovett.

The talent agency has also established connections with former President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Biden did not reveal retirement plans

The 82-year-old Joe Biden has not shared any plans for the future. "We’re leaving office. We’re not leaving the fight," he assured as he departed after more than half a century of public service.

Although weeks have passed since his presidency ended, there are no signs that the former president is working on a new book or project. During his previous collaboration with the talent agency in 2017, he published his memoir, "Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose." The book, which described the loss of his eldest son, Beau, became a number one bestseller on "The New York Times" list and inspired an entire series of Biden's books called "American Promise."

Not just show-business stars

Although the talent agency is typically associated with major movie stars and celebrities, it is not uncommon to collaborate with politicians and community-oriented groups.

The Obamas' collaboration with CAA through their production company, Higher Ground, has resulted in award-winning films and television programs, including the Oscar-winning documentary American Factory.
