The American president contacted the head of the Israeli government on Sunday. "The subject of the conversation was the situation in the Middle East" - reported by Reuters agency.

In a later statement, the White House announced that Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to the "continuous flow" of international humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip from Egypt - points out The Times of Israel.

The report was commented on by Israel's Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir.

"Any agreement on 'continuous aid for Gaza', which does not include the release of all our hostages, is just a continuation of the concept that led us to the place we are now" - wrote on the X service (formerly Twitter).

"Humanitarian aid only in exchange for the release of all hostages!" - he added.
