Biden okays Ukraine's missile strikes deep into Russia
The administration of U.S. President Joe Biden has given Ukraine the green light to use American weapons to strike targets deep within Russia, Reuters reported on Sunday, citing several sources familiar with the matter.
According to the agency, Ukraine is set to conduct its first long-range attacks in the coming days using ATACMS missiles, which have a range of about 186 miles.
The U.S. decision was reportedly influenced by Russia's deployment of North Korean ground troops on the front lines, Reuters noted.
The White House declined to comment on the matter, the agency added.
President Biden has authorized Ukrainian forces to deploy ATACMS tactical missile systems. This decision follows reports of North Korean soldiers joining Russian combat operations, as reported by American media.
