Biden endorses pick: Harris taps Walz for VP run

Joe Biden responded to Kamala Harris's announcement that she has chosen Tim Walz as her candidate for Vice President of the United States. "She made a great decision," the current President of the United States said.
"I am proud to announce that I have asked Tim Walz to be my candidate for Vice President," Kamala Harris stated in her post on Tuesday. President Joe Biden responded to this information shortly thereafter.
"The first important decision a party candidate makes is the selection of a Vice President. And Kamala Harris made a great decision by selecting Governor Tim Walz as her candidate for Vice President," Biden wrote on platform X.
Joe Biden: Harris and Walz will be defenders of democracy
As the President of the USA further explained, he has known Tim Walz for almost two decades, first during his tenure in Congress and then as a governor. "As a husband and father, he was a school teacher and a high school football coach. He served for 24 years in the U.S. National Guard and became the highest-ranking soldier to ever serve in Congress. As a governor, he was a strong, principled, and effective leader," Biden enumerated.
"The Harris-Walz duo will be a powerful voice for working people and the American middle class. They will be the strongest defenders of our personal freedoms and democracy. And they will ensure America's continued leadership in the world and the role of an indispensable nation," said the President of the USA in the further part of his post.
He also summarized, "The time has come for all Democrats - and in fact, all Americans - who stand for freedom, democracy, and American leadership in the world, to unite in support of Harris-Walz".
"Every generation of Americans faces a moment when they are asked to defend American democracy. That moment has come now", concluded Joe Biden.
On Tuesday, Kamala Harris announced in a post on platform X that "I am proud to announce that I have asked Tim Walz to be my candidate for Vice President." "It’s great to have him on the team," she added.
In response to her decision, Walz announced that "it is the greatest honor of his life." He also declared full engagement in the campaign before the presidential elections.
