Donald Trump responded: "Politics is tough in many cases, it's not a nice world, but it's a nice day." He expressed gratitude for the invitation and emphasized the importance of unity for the good of the country.

Earlier, during a meeting with representatives of the House of Representatives at the Hyatt hotel in Washington, Trump emphasized the historic nature of his electoral victory. He claimed that these were the most important elections in 129 years.

He also announced that in the upcoming elections, Republicans will win in traditional liberal strongholds such as New York and California.

According to the reports, the meeting of both politicians represents an important step towards a smooth transfer of power and may contribute to easing political tensions in the country.

Melania Trump did not accept the First Lady's invitation

Meanwhile, CNN reports that the First Lady of the USA joined her husband in welcoming Trump. Previously, Jill Biden had sent Melania Trump an invitation to the traditional meeting of the outgoing and incoming first ladies, but it was not accepted. American media report that the reason was previously scheduled activities related to the promotion of her book.

Jill Biden reportedly sent Donald Trump a handwritten letter to the president-elect's wife, according to the White House.
