Beware the "danger triangle": Expert warns against pimple popping
Everyone dreams of having flawless-looking skin. Some people try to eliminate imperfections, such as by squeezing pimples. A dermatologist advises against this and warns of serious consequences.
We can boast about having beautiful, healthy, and glowing skin. Skin-free of wrinkles and imperfections is not only a sign of youth but also of good well-being. However, not everyone is so fortunate. Even in old age, acne can appear, and solutions must be sought to address it.
One of the most important areas of our face is the so-called "danger triangle." This area requires special attention and adherence to proper care guidelines. If unwanted pimples appear in this area, we should never squeeze them. This can threaten health and even life.
The "danger triangle" is located in the central part of the face
People of all ages, not just teenagers, struggle with pimples appearing on their faces, backs, or shoulders. Individuals in all age groups try to remove imperfections mechanically, for example, by using their own hands. Experts warn against this, especially in the facial area connecting the nose with the corners of the mouth, the so-called "danger triangle." This area may seem small, but its health significance is enormous. Why is it so important not to squeeze pimples in this region?
New York dermatologist Dr. Mark Strom, who publishes on TikTok under the name "dermatologist," raises the alarm. This area is "particularly dangerous" due to the tight connection of blood vessels to the brain.
An infection in the "danger triangle" area can quickly spread through the facial and ophthalmic veins. They have a connection with the cavernous sinus located inside the skull. Infection of this area can lead to serious health problems, including cavernous sinus thrombosis, nerve palsy (paralysis), and even death. Additionally, a scar from squeezing a pimple may be more challenging to remove than the blemish itself.
How to better take care of your skin?
First and foremost, it's important to focus on daily skincare. Regular face cleansing and moisturizing help keep the skin in good condition. It's advisable to use gentle cosmetics for this purpose, which do not irritate the epidermis and provide the proper conditions for it to regenerate.
An important aspect is a diet rich in vitamins and minerals. Consuming fruits, vegetables, and whole grain products can have a beneficial effect on the skin. Specialists recommend limiting sugar and processed foods, including eliminating chips, sugary sodas, and instant soups from the diet.
One of the key elements is reducing excess stress, for example, through relaxation techniques such as meditation. Introducing new habits, using natural essential oils for baths, or regular physical activity can help reduce tension, positively influencing the fight against imperfections.
If pimples are persistent, recurring, and hard to treat, consider consulting with a dermatologist. A specialist can select appropriate therapy or medications tailored to the specific needs of the skin.
