Ben Stiller donates $150,000 in star-studded Kamala Harris event

Known actor and comedian Ben Stiller is fully committed to supporting Kamala Harris's presidential campaign in the 2024 elections. During his appearance at the "Comics For Kamala" event, Stiller made an unusual joke about white Jews who want to be Black.

At Monday’s Zoom meeting, in addition to Ben Stiller, well-known celebrities such as Ed Helms, Jon Hamm, and Whoopi Goldberg also participated. The event, hosted by comedian Paul Mercurio, aimed to support Kamala Harris in her bid for the presidency against Donald Trump. Representative Eric Swalwell and producers Dani Zoldan and Jamie Patricof organized the meeting.

Ben joined the conversation halfway through the more than three-hour meeting. He began by announcing that he would match a $150,000 donation that Mercurio had contributed to the Democratic campaign and the current vice president.

Next, Ben expressed his excitement at the possibility of Kamala defeating Trump, encouraging everyone to support his candidate. He described Kamala as a "decent person" who cares about democracy while being empathetic and having a sense of humor. According to Stiller, Harris was able to mobilize young voters who were previously uninterested in politics.

During his speech, Ben also touched on the issue of race. Speaking of Kamala as a historic candidate with African American and Indian roots, the actor introduced his unusual joke about white Jews.

Although Ben Stiller's joke might seem strange, it was delivered peacefully and humorously. However, the main message was more important: "Let’s vote for Kamala Harris!" The "Comics For Kamala" meeting concluded with over $500,000 raised for Harris's campaign. It’s worth noting that a similar event called "White Dudes for Harris" attracted over 190,000 people and raised around $4 million for Harris's election fund.

In the coming days, Kamala Harris and vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz will travel to key swing states to gain voter support.
