The Belarusian department revealed that "during training, special focus will be on the experience accumulated by the Russian Armed Forces during their special military operation", referring to Russia's war against Ukraine.
The report also stated that upon completing their training, Belarusian soldiers "will act as instructors for the most complex aspects of combat preparation and will disseminate the acquired experience to other units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus".
The independent Belarusian portal, Radio Svoboda, further added that Belarusian leaders "have supported Russia's aggression against Ukraine and allowed their military infrastructure and airspace to be used for the invasion by the Russian army and the bombing of Ukrainian cities, causing tens of thousands of Ukrainian civilian deaths."
However, the article noted that there's no direct involvement from the Belarusian army in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
In addition, Belarusian President, Alexander Lukashenko, has frequently expressed criticism towards Ukrainian authorities. Following last year's attempted coup involving mercenaries from the Wagner Group, some of whom temporarily entered Belarus, Lukashenko, in a conversation with Vladimir Putin, warned that it has been difficult for him "to restrain in the country Wagnerists who wanted to depart for Warsaw and Rzeszów".
