Belarus and Russia boost military ties, plan west-2025 drills
The Belarusian Defense Minister, Viktar Khrenin, announced after the meeting of the joint defense ministries of Belarus and Russia that the two countries are deepening their military cooperation and have approved the plan for the West-2025 maneuvers.
Russian Minister Andrey Belousov highlighted the readiness to use nuclear weapons in defense of Belarus, stressing the significance of the alliance between the nations.
"Russia's state policy, adapted to new realities, permits the use of nuclear weapons in response to aggression against Belarus," Belousov stated in Minsk, reaffirming previous declarations from the Russian side.
Minister Khrenin emphasized that military cooperation between the two countries is intensifying to "defend sovereignty."
During the meeting in Minsk, the plan for the joint military maneuvers West-2025 was approved, although no dates were provided.
