More and more, we find ourselves impacted by beauty standards set by influential beauty influencers. These standards often feel unreachable to many, leading admirers to pursue radical changes to their appearance. Regrettably, they fail to consider the potential risks associated with these surgical procedures.
Kristina Vishnieviecka, online known as Pouty Cartier Bugatti, can attest to these risks. Initially, she felt pressured by her online community to strive for "perfection". Soon, however, she realized her discomfort with her augmented appearance.
Influencer's life threatened by seemingly straightforward procedure
Seeking to revert her look, Kristina returned to the surgical clinic. This time, she wanted to restore her lips to their natural appearance.
No one could have predicted the severe complications to follow. After being administered an immunomodulatory drug, Kristina experienced a severe allergic reaction which led her lips to swell enormously. Instead of achieving a natural look, she found herself in unbearable pain and was quickly rushed to a hospital.
Vishnieviecka shared the horrifying ordeal on her social media platforms, expressing gratitude to the medical team that effectively managed the severe allergic reaction. They successfully halted the development of a potentially fateful condition known as Quincke's edema, known to affect the deeper skin layers and cause severe breathing problems, endangering life.
The influencer was quoted by the British "Daily Mail", saying "I almost died after having my lip filler removed. They burst after an allergic reaction".
She also made it a point to claim that the cosmetologist who performed the procedure may not have been adequately qualified for this type of operation.
