You can create impressive pouches simply using regular onions, ground beef, bacon, cheddar, and pickles. Plus, the preparation process is pretty straightforward.
Make your own onion pouches with ground meat — recipe
Ingredients:
- 1.3 lbs of ground beef
- 6 teaspoons of yellow mustard
- 2.1 oz of grated cheddar
- 2 pickles
- 12 slices of bacon
- 2 onions
- Season with salt and pepper to taste
Preparation:
Step 1. Begin the recipe by preparing the meat filling. On a cutting board, form a small patty from the ground beef. Then, add a dollop of mustard in the center of the patty.
Step 2. Place a slice of pickled cucumber directly on the mustard, then sprinkle some grated cheddar over the entire structure. Gently wrap the beef around these ingredients to form a small ball.
Step 3. Spread two slices of bacon on the cutting board - one horizontally and the other vertically, intersecting at the center. Place the prepared meatball at the intersection, then season it with salt and pepper. Wrap the overlapping ends of the bacon around the meatball ensuring it's completely enclosed.
Step 4. Next, prepare the onion. Once peeled, make a cut to create a pocket. Scoop out some of the layers using a regular tablespoon to accommodate the meatball. Insert the prepared meatball inside.
Step 5. Secure the prepared snacks with the help of decorative sticks. Arrange the stuffed onions in a baking dish, then bake them in a preheated oven for 20 minutes at 356 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 6. Serve the baked pouches hot. For an eyecatching garnish, lightly sprinkle them with finely chopped parsley. Bon Appétit!
