Barcelona's title hopes shattered in fiery El Clasico defeat

In the 32nd round of play, FC Barcelona lost to Real Madrid 2-3 in El Clasico. This defeat has all but dashed their hopes of defending their Spanish championship title. In a moment of frustration, Ferran Torres kicked the ball into the stands, not concealing his anger after the final whistle. One recording captured the ball striking a Real Madrid fan.

Last season, FC Barcelona emerged as the champions of both La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup. However, this year, it seems unlikely that the Pride of Catalonia will claim any titles.

Barcelona's main focus currently is defending their championship title. Yet, the defeat to Real Madrid in El Clasico on Sunday (April 21), which left them trailing by 11 points behind Real Madrid with just six rounds remaining, appears to be a gap too wide to close.

At Santiago Bernabeu, Barcelona took the lead twice. Nevertheless, Real Madrid managed to score even both times. In added time, Jude Bellingham secured the victory for the home team.

After the match, the frustration among the visiting players was palpable, with Ferran Torres expressing his anger by kicking the ball towards the stands, an action he would soon regret.

Recently, footage has circulated on social media of the moment Torres’s misguided shot hit a Real Madrid fan. The video concludes with the injured fan doubled over. The aftermath remains unclear.
