Banish unwanted houseguests: Ordinary items that can help rid your home of spiders
Life, as we know, isn't just black and white. On one hand, we appreciate that spiders are beneficial creatures that shouldn't be killed. However, the sight of these eight-legged creatures sauntering around our kitchens can shift this perspective. Squashing them with a newspaper isn't a pleasant task, so we suggest a better alternative. Make your home so unappealing to them that they opt to leave as quickly as possible.

The scent that makes spiders flee
Fortunately, for those who suffer from arachnophobia, Poland doesn't have the larger species of spiders found in some places like South America (unless they hitch a ride on bananas...). But, the size of the spider doesn't always reduce the fear or disgust they can provoke. To avoid this scenario, it's better to apply simple, effective tricks that deter spiders from entering your home.
Mint
Despite being a scent enjoyed by many humans, spiders cannot bear it. Spraying a blend of peppermint oil and water in areas prone to spider activity can effectively deter any return. Spiders are so repulsed by mint that they'll avoid even a simple pot containing this plant.
Lemon
Turns out, spiders aren't fans of lemonade. They despise citrus fruits just as much as mint. To create an unwelcome environment for them, use either fresh fruit , citric acid, or oils. Especially consider rubbing these around doorframes leading to external areas as a no-entry signal for spiders.
Vinegar
Yet another scent spiders detest. Make a blend of vinegar and water in a one to one ratio, and apply in zones where spiders congregate. However, don't go overboard as this might not only repel spiders but also drive out the rest of the household until the cleaning phase is over.
Mint, lemon, and vinegar are three readily available weapons to fight off spiders. Other deterrents you can consider include cinnamon, eucalyptus, cedar, and chestnuts. Just sprinkle some in certain areas, like window sills, for example. Also, keep in mind that preventing infestations is important. Spiders tend to gravitate to dusty areas. Installing mosquito nets and meshes on ventilation openings, common access points for spiders, can also be beneficial.
