Baltic states and Poland propose new sanctions on Russia: LNG gas import, scientific cooperation at stake

The Polish Press Agency has learned that the proposal also includes restrictions on knowledge transfer, scientific cooperation, and the financing of scientific research regarding Russia. This proposal involves additional measures to prevent Moscow from circumventing sanctions, tightening restrictions in the aviation sector, and expanding the list of products barred from drone production.

In addition to Russia, Poland and the Baltic countries also wish to include Belarus in the new sanctions package on a sectoral basis. The objective is to stop Russia from bypassing EU restrictions through Minsk.
