Bake your holiday spirit: Easy candy cane cookies for National Cookie Day
The holidays are an excellent time for baking, and children can participate too. These candy cane-shaped cookies are perfect to prepare during the holiday season. It's best to start with a simple recipe that anyone can succeed with, regardless of baking skills.
Besides cheesecakes, poppy seed cakes, and gingerbread cookies, simple cookies are a great idea for sweet treats in December. Anything based on buttery, crumbly dough can be the foundation for creative bakes that will replace elaborate store-bought options. When it comes to candy canes, the original sweets are like the famous icicles in Polish tradition—due to their sugar content, it's hard to finish them all. However, cookies in their shape will surely disappear to the last crumb!
