During winter, we tend to open windows less frequently. However, this led to moisture accumulating on the window glass, which can be harmful to our health as it fosters mold growth. So, how can this be prevented? Let's learn from the "Queen of Clean" who shared a fantastic tip.

Dealing with moisture buildup on windows during the autumn-winter season is a real nightmare. Regular moisture removal is essential to impede mold growth. Yet, there's a method that might diminish the dampness of the windows.

The issue with damp windows

In winter, we frequently reduce room ventilation to a bare minimum due to low temperatures and high heating costs. Unfortunately, this leads to condensation and damp windows.

This scenario isn't good for our health. It can lead to the development of mold on window frames, seals, and even walls. Inhalation of the fungal spores present in the air can lead to various diseases.

Eliminating moisture

So, how can we prevent such situations? First and foremost, water should be regularly removed, preferably using a microfiber cloth.

However, there is a method that could prevent moisture from collecting so frequently and intensely.

Lynsey, the creator of the popular TikTok profile "Queen of Clean", disclosed a straightforward and cost-effective way to create an invisible barrier that repels water.

She asserts that just one drop of ordinary dishwashing liquid suffices. Detergent should be spread over the glass to prevent it from getting damp. Of course, this process should be routinely carried out.

Some commentators voiced concerns that the gel cleaner may leave unattractive streaks on the windows. However, the expert reassured that such a small amount of liquid would not leave any traces while effectively performing its job. "I've tried it and I can confirm that it works!" chimed in one of Lynsey's followers later on.

There are other home remedies to tackle wet windows. For example, leaving salt wrapped in gauze or a few pieces of chalk on the windowsill, which are natural dehumidifiers.
