The brutal rape allegedly occurred on Saturday, July 20. After the incident, the victim went to a kebab restaurant seeking shelter. Paramedics later transported her to Bichat Hospital. Now, a surveillance video from the Parisian establishment has been released, showing the moments after the alleged gang rape of the 25-year-old Australian woman.

The footage shows the woman hiding in the establishment while employees try to comfort her. Then a man appears, entering the pub, and the woman gestures, indicating that he is her attacker. The alleged perpetrator hesitates momentarily, then approaches the woman and pats her on the back.

The next scenes show a patron, who speaks English, confronting the man, forcing him to leave the establishment. The police arrive a few minutes later as the staff and patrons care for the woman.

In an interview with 7NEWS, the establishment's owner admitted that "Staff working in a kebab shop saw that her dress was on backward when she went inside to seek help." The 25-year-old victim told the police five men of African descent raped her. According to information provided by Australian television 7NEWS, an extensive police investigation is underway.

Representatives of the Olympic team have been informed about the recent incident, which has raised concerns. Anna Meares, head of the Australian Olympic team, recommended caution when leaving the athlete's village.

"I have been informed, it sounds horrific. Obviously, our hearts go out to the woman involved and we hope she’s being cared for and supported in the trauma she’s experienced," said Meares.

Meares emphasized that her team members have been thoroughly briefed on precautionary measures and safety rules. "We’re just waiting on further information on the actual case itself," she added.

The opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games will take place on Friday evening.
