The video that made its rounds on social media was shot at a golf course in Brisbane. It features two large pythons, locked in fierce combat. British newspaper "The Sun" informs that these were two mature males wrestling for a chance to mate with a nearby female.

The golfer caught on camera seems undisturbed by the ferocious snake fight. Unfazed, he calmly prepares his next stroke and sends the ball into the air. He then packs up his items and nonchalantly walks away from the reptile battlefield.

The person capturing the video also displayed little emotion. After the golfer leaves the frame, the camera zooms in to focus more on the dueling reptiles. The video cuts off just after this.

While the video may seem exciting to Europeans, many Australians are quite familiar with such reptilian encounters. For instance, Oceania is home to 15 species of pythons, and it's a common sight to see snakes in suburban areas. The man in the video may be also used to these types of encounters.

Although pythons aren't venomous, they can still pose a threat to humans. In November 2022, a story of a snake attacking a 5-year-old boy in Byron Bay, Australia, was widely covered across global media. The snake first bit the child, then coiled around his ankle and pulled him into a pool. Luckily, the boy's father and grandfather arrived just in time to save him.
