At least 22 dead in Lewiston, Maine. The attacker is still on the loose
At least 22 people have died in shootings in the city of Lewiston in the American state of Maine. The police have appealed to residents to stay at home, as the attacker is still at large.
As reported by NBC, citing police sources, at least 22 people have been killed in shootings. There are also about 50-60 injured people.
One attack allegedly occurred in a bar and the other in a bowling alley.
The law enforcement organs of Androscoggin County have published an image of the suspected man. "The suspect is still at liberty," we read in a post on social media.
The police have also published a photo of the car that the attacker may be using. An hour before midnight Eastern Time, NBC reported that the vehicle was found in Lisbon, located approximately 7 miles from Lewiston.
"There is an active shooter in Lewiston. Everyone is asked to take cover. We urge you to stay at home behind closed doors. Law enforcement agencies are currently conducting investigations at multiple locations. If you notice any suspicious activity or suspicious individuals, call 911" - announced the state police on portal X.
