Aston Martin officially returns to plans related to endurance racing. Their prototype model, Valkyrie, is set to represent the brand in the WEC and IMSA series. The company is currently working on meeting homologation requirements.
If everything goes according to plan, Valkyrie will participate in prestigious races such as 24h Daytona, Sebring, or the iconic Le Mans. The vehicle's development will be supported by the experienced Heart of Racing team.
As announced, the racing version of Valkyrie will noticeably differ from the brand's production car. It is expected to be longer and completely different in terms of aerodynamics. What is surprising - the 6.5-liter V12 will not be supported by a hybrid.
The brand is confident. You can definitely feel the fighting spirit.
- We have been present in Le Mans from the very beginning. We won in 1959 and achieved 19 victories in our classes. Now we are returning to the scene to write a new history with a racing prototype inspired by the fastest production car ever built by Aston Martin - says the brand's boss, Lawrence Stroll.
