Aspirin hack: Effortlessly whiten towels without bleach

Just one tablet added to the laundry is enough to make towels impeccably white. Although baking soda and vinegar are tried-and-true methods, this simple trick may prove even more effective. During the winter season, almost everyone has this tablet at home.

Towels absorb moisture, dead skin cells, and other impurities from the skin. This promotes the growth of bacteria and other microorganisms that can negatively impact our health. According to Super Express, experts recommend washing towels at least every two weeks, and face towels even daily.

In the past, towels were boiled to effectively kill bacteria. Today, modern washing machines handle dirt very well. It's important to avoid using fabric softeners, as they can make towels stiff and reduce their absorbency. Instead, it's better to rely on proven home methods.

One lesser-known but highly effective method to restore towels to their pristine whiteness is using aspirin. Simply dissolve one tablet in water and add it to the laundry. Aspirin has whitening properties that help remove gray residue and stains, and it also softens fabrics.

Another method for cleaner towels is using table salt. Add four tablespoons of salt to the washing machine drum and set the appropriate wash cycle. Salt softens fabrics, neutralizes unpleasant odors, and removes stains. Additionally, it helps protect colors.

Here's the best laundry detergent

The price of a product does not always correspond to its quality, and this is also true for laundry detergents. As noted in WP Finanse, the German foundation Stiftung Warentest conducted research on the effectiveness of laundry detergents.

The winning detergent did not come from a well-known manufacturer but from a discount store. The best results were obtained by Tandil Ultra Plus, available at Aldi Nord.

The price of the most effective detergent is about $5.11 for a 4.5 lb package. In Poland, it can be purchased online, where the cost of a 4.4 lb package is around $9.56.
