Aryna Sabalenka pauses tennis after Australian Open win to show off life off‑court

Shocking the tennis world, Aryna Sabalenka reached new heights during the previous season. Just within the first month, she claimed victory at the Australian Open Grand Slam.

Before her Melbourne triumph, she had won in Adelaide. Subsequently, she overcame Iga Świątek to win the Madrid tournament. Additionally, she reached the finals of the US Open and the semi-finals at Roland Garros and Wimbledon. On September 11, 2023, she moved ahead of the Polish player in the global WTA ranking to become the new leader. However, our tennis star managed to reclaim her first position during the WTA Finals.

The Belarusian has kick-started the new season in great form. She was able to defend her Melbourne title, which means she now stands only 865 points behind the leading Świątek.

At the moment, Sabalenka is observing her rivals from the sidelines as she chose to drop out of the WTA 1000 tournament in Doha, a title Świątek is defending. Consequently, she's utilising her spare time to share glimpses of her life away from tennis.

"Expectations vs. reality. Once a year, I can look beautiful," she captioned an Instagram story, where she contrasted her everyday look with her look on the court during a match.

Yet, this isn't the first time we've seen Sabalenka in an informal setting. Indeed, she had also dressed up and had makeup done for the ceremony before the start of the last season's closing WTA Final tournament in Cancun, Mexico.
