Russian media report that the soldier escaped from the military unit on Oganova Street in Rostov-on-Don.
The channel "What's in Rostov" writes that the car in which the soldier disappeared was last seen on the outskirts of the city. The police have not officially commented on this information so far.
'Interception' is a general term used in Russia to refer to established warning signals used to gather police personnel for "urgent operational activities."
After the plan is implemented, an operational group is created to coordinate all activities in the search area. For "interception," only forces regularly maintaining public order in the territory can be involved. Additional regional units can be engaged if the action commander deems it necessary.
In addition to Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) units, the operational group can notify other services equipped with radio communication about the "interception" – taxis, emergency services, etc.- and receive directions to the sought-after vehicles.
