Are you charging your phone at night? Stop immediately. Here's why

There is no shortage of people who charge their smartphones and tablets overnight. Everything, of course, so that in the morning they can enjoy a fully charged device. Experts, however, are raising alarms and advising against such practice. Why should we not proceed in this way?

An extremely popular practice is charging mobile devices overnight. Even Poles use this solution, wanting to be sure that in the morning the tablet or smartphone will be fully charged.

It turns out that this is a very dangerous practice. You shouldn't act this way, as it could lead to an electrical short. The path to a fire in such a case is very short.

Fires caused by kettles and coffee makers have been a known issue to firefighters for years. Therefore, whenever we go to sleep or leave the house, we should always unplug them. They are often plastic devices placed on wooden countertops. A short circuit could occur in them, which would start a fire. Also, we often place our cell phones, which are charged overnight, in bedding, next to the bed. This is not thoughtful or safe - said the head of the Wielkopolska firefighters, Jr. Brig. Andrzej Bartkowiak, on Polsat News.

Don't charge your phone at night. It's easy to overload it

The number of electrical devices in homes is virtually continuous. Therefore, we buy extension cords and splitters. Unfortunately, each socket has its limits, which makes it easy to overload.

If we plug too many devices into an outlet, it can lead to overheating of the installation. On the other hand, if the charging phone is covered with a comforter or blanket, the device's temperature may exceed acceptable standards, which may create a risk of fire.

Therefore, it's best to be cautious. It's best to charge mobile devices during the day, keeping in mind not to connect too many devices to one outlet.
