Sponge cake with apples. a simple cake for fall

Pumpkin, plum, and apple cakes are sweet symbols of autumn. In addition to the obvious specialties like apple pie, plum cake with crumble, or American-style pumpkin pie, there are desserts that are easy to prepare and deliver wonderful results.

An example of such a dessert is a sponge cake with apples. Everyone knows sponge cake, and most can whip it up without a second thought. A cake enriched with apple slices becomes more moist, retains its fluffiness, and its pillowy interior absorbs the apple flavor and aroma. Sprinkle the whole with cinnamon, and it's ready.
