Analysts' expectations were met when Apple unveiled two iterations of the iPad Air at the "Let Loose" event. The distinguishing factor between the models is the screen size. Notably, the iPad Air with a 13-inch diagonal emerged as a significant innovation. Here are the specifications and pricing for these tablets.

Over three years have elapsed since the introduction of the last iPad Air version. Finally, we've been graced with new models. This time, Apple has exceeded expectations by releasing not just one but two new models—a compact version with an 11-inch screen and a larger variant boasting a 13-inch diagonal.

The difference in size influences not only their looks but also several aspects of the tablets' functionality.

Appearance of the new iPad Air models

The new iPad Air models come in four captivating colors:
  • blue,
  • purple,
  • "midnight starlight",
  • "space gray".

The smaller model retains its predecessor's dimensions, measuring 9.74 x 7.02 x 0.24 inches. The 13-inch version features dimensions of 11.04 x 8.46 x 0.24 inches.

In line with predictions, the front camera has been strategically positioned on the longer side for horizontal use. This adjustment enhances functionality, especially when using the Magic Keyboard or other accessories.

Technical details of the iPad Air 5

Focusing on the front camera, Apple incorporated an ultra-wide 12 MP lens with an ƒ/2.4 aperture. It supports Smart HDR 4 and enables video recording in 1080p at 25 fps, 30 fps, or 60 fps.
Both models sport an LED-backlit LCD screen, dubbed Liquid Retina, which supports the broader P3 color spectrum and the True Tone feature. They also come with an oleophobic coating to resist fingerprints. The screen resolution for the smaller model is 2360 by 1640 pixels at 264 pixels per inch, while the larger model boasts 2732 by 2048 pixels, also at 264 pixels per inch.
The performance of both models is driven by the Apple Silicon M2 processor, a component shared with the MacBook Air and Pro.
It’s also noteworthy to mention the rear camera setup. Both the smaller and the larger models feature the same lens—a wide-angle 12 MP camera with 5x digital zoom. Furthermore, the iPad Airs support Wi-Fi 6E.
