Antarctica's "pyramid" mystery debunked: Just ice and rocks
The IFL Science portal reports that a conspiracy theory about a seemingly mysterious find in Antarctica is circulating on social media. Some internet users speculate it involves giant "doors" that might lead to an alleged pyramid hidden within the glacier.

The so-called pyramid buried in the ice of Antarctica isn't a new concept. This "suspicious" structure was initially spotted in 2016 on Google Earth, and some people believed it was evidently a human-made pyramid concealed deep within the ice, with only its peak slightly visible.
Doors to the interior of antarctica?
Years later, those searching for oddities on Google Earth discovered something that appeared to be doors leading into the depths of Antarctica, according to IFL Science. This discovery was quickly linked to the mysterious pyramid found a few years prior. However, the giant "doors" located southeast of the Showa Station are something entirely different, much to the disappointment of conspiracy theory enthusiasts.
In their commentary on the find, some Reddit users speculated that "it might be an underground entrance to a base," but the reality is much simpler. The satellite images actually show blocks of ice. Interestingly, similar objects can also be seen near the "doors." These internet users merely stumbled upon a solitary piece of ice in their search for hidden truths.
Regarding the alleged hidden pyramid in the glacier, it was revealed to be something completely different. German geologist Dr. Mitch Darcy informed IFL Science that it is merely a natural rock formation emerging from the glacier or ice sheet. Although it has a pyramid-like shape, it is not a man-made structure, supporting the notion that the most straightforward explanations are often accurate.
