Let's go back a few years. In 2022, it came to light that Angelina Jolie sued the FBI and the Department of Justice because the investigation into Brad Pitt's alleged violence, which she reported to these agencies, was closed. The incidents reportedly occurred on their private plane just before their divorce in 2016.
Jolie vs. Pitt: What happened on the plane?
The entire family, the celebrity couple, and their numerous children were flying to France from the USA. Allegedly, Brad Pitt argued with his son Maddox before boarding, then got drunk and started a quarrel. Although Pitt denied any violence, social services were involved when the family landed at the airport. Subsequently, the FBI took over the case and ultimately dismissed it.
The actress subsequently filed a lawsuit under the pseudonym "Jane Doe," commonly used by crime victims in the United States. The lawsuit explained that Ms. Doe had been attempting for years to obtain hidden information to ensure her children received the appropriate care and counseling for the harm they endured. The Department of Justice and FBI had been withholding evidence related to this harm, and their ongoing refusal to release this information had obstructed Ms. Doe’s efforts to secure proper care for her children, causing further harm according to family law. The lawsuit, filed by Jolie, was eventually leaked to the media.
Angelina Jolie steps back
Now, the InTouch service reported that the actress has withdrawn her lawsuit. A source from the website revealed that "the lawsuit was another way to ruin Brad's reputation, but it seems she has finally given up."
Angelina Jolie is currently promoting her latest film, "Maria." Brad Pitt recently starred in "Wolves" (Apple TV+) with George Clooney.
