Cleaning oven racks: Make them sparkle and shine

It's not easy removing the grime that clings to your oven rack. The situation gets worse as the same spot also accumulates grease. Conventional washing liquid simply can't handle such dirt, making the cleaning process an arduous chore with little payoff. But there's a different approach to this issue. How can you get your rack clean without exhausting scrubbing?

Let's begin by preparing a useful cleaning solution. You'll need two cups of water, a dishwasher tablet, and three teaspoons of baking soda. Pour hot (but not boiling) water over the dishwasher tablet. Stir until completely dissolved. Next, add your measured amount of baking soda and stir again.

Pour your prepared solution into... a garbage bag, after placing your dirty rack in it. Ensure that the bag is tightly sealed, and then set it aside for a few hours. After this time, use a nail brush to clean the rack, removing any remaining grime. Due to the effectiveness of this trick, you won't need to use excessive effort; the solution should lift off all impurities. After cleaning and rinsing with water, your oven rack will be as good as new.
