The release date for the Polish premiere of the biographical film about the life and music of Amy Winehouse has been announced. "Back to Black", the drama that captures her life, will hit the screens on April 12, 2024, with British actress Marisa Abela playing the lead role.

Recognized as one of the most unique vocalists of the 21st century, Winehouse's music shattered popularity records and gained her millions of fans worldwide. Regrettably, her transformation from a promising teenage talent to a woman plagued with addictions played out very publicly.

Her ongoing issues with alcohol and drugs were a significant part of her sensational career. Despite this, fans held out hope that she might conquer her demons and abandon her hazardous lifestyle. Attempts at rehab and living a normal life were made, though these were unsuccessful.

Amy Winehouse's life tragically ended on July 23, 2011, in her own home. Empty vodka bottles found in her bedroom pointed to the cause. An autopsy revealed an alarmingly high level of alcohol in her blood at the time of her death — over four per mil (0.4%).

"Back to Black" aims to shed light on Winehouse's remarkable talent, originality, and authenticity, qualities that pervaded every aspect of her life. The film traces her journey from London's vibrant Camden High Street in the 90s to international fame, highlighting the steep price paid for such rapid success.
