"An American warship intercepted numerous missile rockets and drones in the north of the Red Sea, near Yemen. It is unclear what their target was, but it likely was Israel" - the Pentagon spokesman informed.

On Thursday afternoon, two drones also attacked the Syrian base of al-Tanf, where American soldiers are also located. One of the unmanned vehicles caused "minor injuries," as reported to AP by two representatives from Washington. However, it is unknown if the injured are Americans.

The al-Tanf garrison is located on a crucial route often used for delivering Iranian weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon - explains AP.

Threat against the USA

According to Syrian opposition media, broadcasting from Europe, there was also a drone attack on the oil facilities of the Conoco company, in eastern Syria, on the border with Iraq, where American soldiers are stationed.

A week earlier, Ahmad "Abu Hussein" al-Hamidawi, the leader of Kataib Hezbollah - a Shiite militant group in Iraq supported by Iran - threatened a retaliatory attack on American bases if the United States intervened in the war between Hamas and Israel. He also threatened to launch missiles at Israeli targets.

Al-Hamidawi also called on Iraqis to collect donations in support of Hamas' military campaign.
