American rapper Fatman Scoop, known for his collaborations with Missy Elliott and Ciara, passed away after collapsing on stage during a concert in Connecticut on Friday. The tragic news was confirmed by the musician's family.

New York rapper Isaac Freeman III, known as Fatman Scoop, died at the age of 53 after collapsing on stage. The dramatic event took place on Friday evening (August 30) during a concert at Town Center Park in Hamden, Connecticut. This performance turned out to be the last in the 53-year-old's career.

As reported by the BBC, the rapper lost consciousness halfway through his performance. Meanwhile, "The Guardian" mentions a video published on the platform X that shows the musician falling behind the DJ booth. Moments earlier, the rapper was encouraging concertgoers to "make some noise." For a brief moment, the audience thought the dramatic events unfolding on stage were part of the show.

Mayor Lauren Garett stated in a Facebook post that the rapper was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Unfortunately, his life could not be saved. The information about the 53-year-old rapper's death was confirmed by, among others, his family.

It is with profound sadness and very heavy hearts that we share news of the passing of the legendary and iconic FatMan Scoop. Last night, the world lost a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and in life. (...) As we mourn the loss of FatManScoop, we also celebrate his remarkable life and the countless lives he touched - was written in an Instagram post.

In a conversation with the BBC, the concert agency MN2S confirmed the rapper's death, emphasizing that "the New Yorker's legacy will live on through his timeless music."

Fatman Scoop was recognizable for his distinctive voice. His biggest hit was the song "Be Faithful," which topped charts and clubs worldwide.

Another breakthrough in the rapper's career was his collaboration with Missy Elliott and Ciara, which resulted in the song "Lose Control." The song brought the rapper international fame.

The rapper also appeared on the Grammy-nominated Mariah Carey song "It's Like That" and was recorded by many other artists, such as Timbaland and David Guetta.
