Britney Spears in her book "The Woman in Me" shares memories from her life and reveals completely new facts about her private life. Recently, the "People" magazine published a fragment of the book in which the singer explains why she took such a drastic step as shaving her head in 2007. The publication of the book is scheduled for October 24 of this year and everything indicates that it will unveil long-hidden secrets of the singer.

Britney Spears is a person who undoubtedly needs no introduction. The "Princess of Pop" is probably one of the most popular singers in the world. Although her musical achievements have been buzzed about for years, recently, most of the discussion has been about her private life issues. Recall that Spears was under her father's guardianship for many years, which ended relatively recently. Lately, most of the talk has been about her high-profile divorce.

However, it turns out that Britney has no intention of locking herself within four walls, as her book, which reveals previously unknown facts about her life, will soon see the light of day. The star mentioned, among other things, an event from 2007 when she shaved her head, and the media years later recognized it as a turning point in her life, as it supposedly marked the beginning of problems that awaited her.

Britney Spears recalls shaving her head

Growing up, I was so heavily scrutinized. People looked me up and down, they've been telling me what they think about my body since I was a teenager. Shaving my head and acting out were my ways of fighting all of this. - she explained in a part of "The Woman in Me".

In 2007, something inside her broke, and after one of the rehabs, Britney went to Esther's Haircutting Studio in Tarzana, California. The singer asked the hairdresser to shave her then-brown hair. The owner of the salon, Esther Tognozzi, refused. Britney decided to have her way and shaved her head with a razor. At that time, paparazzi photographed her from behind a window.

The singer also explained that later, while under her father's guardianship, she had no control over her daily life. Since 2008, the man had controlled her personal, medical, and financial affairs.

I was made to understand that those days are over. (...) I had to let my hair grow and get back in shape. I had to go to bed early and take the medicine they told me to - she adds.

In one of the sections, she also talked about abortion. It turns out that Britney got pregnant with her then-boyfriend - Justin Timberlake.
